the old version left a folder with old info that was messing it up, deleted the old folder, reinstalled the development build set up the kishi  controls, and boom works like a dream. thanks for help! 

Will this delete my saved game file that I already have. Cause I just got a kishi and am having the same problem.

Yes. Make sure to backup the folder before deleting it. (The subfolders named GameCube and Wii contain your save data.)
