So there's my answer for you Heinz, in modern dolphin the 8 core gpu would only push 720p for me.
1080p fluctuated into the 40s too often.

Hey, quick update.
On the M1 max with 32 gpu cores, I'm currently playing SMG2 at 8x native at 60fps locked. I haven't hit any of the more stressful areas yet so there may still be some slowdowns to experience, but it seems to be a beast so far.

Nice, wish they made a true mini PC with those new M1 chips (as in smaller than the Mac Mini not a reused housing with a bunch of empty space).

Now that they've revealed the new look of their pro devices, maybe they'll start to trickle redesigns down the product chain?
not to bump an old thread, but with the latest Metal rendering backend, I can run SMG2 at 1080p with a solid 60fps **and** even run it at 1440p at a very stable 60fps as well.
This is on an M1 with an 8 core gpu
