Full Version: Possible to cache custom textures to one file?

Hey!

Since I have no idea how Dolphin works regarding this, this may be a stupid question.

But would it be possible to cache all custom textures, once they load, to one big file, similar to how GlideN64 does it?
Could this improve loading times when using custom textures?

For instance, with GlideN64 there's an option called "save enhanced textures to cache" which produces a .htc file of all textures, instead of several
thousand small files.

After that you can just move or delete all individual .dds or .png files and just use the .htc file.
Reason I'm asking is because I backup my Emulation folder once a day, and it constantly changes, so instead of backing up all those individual files I would just need to backup one file (after loading once)

Any thoughts? Confused
