Hello,

I'm trying to play Paper Mario TTYD.
I'm not quite sure if my graphic card is enough to support it.
I was able to play a few minutes, but whenever there are transitions, it just freezes on it, and nothing I can do.
Is it a hardware porblem? Or maybe I just need to find the right configs?

I'm really not good in these kind of things Blush
Your problem is probably that you're running macOS. What backend are you using (you should probably be using Vulkan)?

I tried Vulkan but it was worse. All the layers were messed up, but it didn't froze at those transition points. but it was almost unplayable.
OpenGL works fine, until the transitions.
Now I tried so many things in the config, it's even worse...  Undecided
To reset all your settings: Quit Dolphin and make sure it's not in your Dock. If you go to /Users/<your username>/Library/Application Support/Dolphin/Config and delete the Dolphin.ini and GFX.ini files, it should reset your config to default the next time you open Dolphin.

Run Dolphin and set your game path back up to where you store PMTTYD, set the Graphics backend to Vulkan, and don't touch any other setting. Then run the game and check your performance.

Ok, so I did reset the settings. Earlier, I tried the stable versions, 5.0, but doesn'y have Vulkan. I reinstalled the latest 5.0-11991.

I tried with Vulkan and it's super glitchy, characters are flashing, etc.

Here's a video: https://youtu.be/I-IclzOEqog

I attached also my graphics settings of dolphins
If you right-click (or macOS equivalent) on PMTTYD in Dolphin's game list, go to Properties >Verify tab >Verify, does it say you have a good dump of the game?

With everything at default, does it run fine with OpenGL? Or does it still freeze?

It's says there's a good dump.
I still freezes with OpenGL with all default configs.

I tried a few things that you can see there. The best is clearly OpenGL with dual-core, but there's a few things that doesn't work. But it seems to be the closest one! (you can see the boat at the beginning when it turns around, doesn't work) (you can see all the enemies jumping not appearing, only their shadows) (and the gate that doesn't disappear)

OpenGL with dual core (the longest to see how it goes)

OpenGL no dual core (kind of slower, and same problems as with dual core)

Vulkan with dual core (glitchy) ====» you can see all my configs at the beginning here

Vulkan no dual core (slower and glitchy too)

Here's two more things to try:

-Update to the latest dev build of Dolphin
-Since you're running the PAL version, if you run the game at 50hz instead of 60hz, does OpenGL still cause problems/Vulkan clipping?

It doesn't open with Vulka on the last dev version.
Doesn't change something between 50hz and 60hz, same freeze

The issue that you are experiencing has to do with a Technique called "Bounding Box", so make sure that you didn't disable that in the settings of Dolphin. Other than that, I don't know Wink
