Use dolphinIL, don't dissable optimize quantizers, set efb copy to ram, use d3d plugin. no other important settings to mention.
too bad, i fell like copy to texture is crucial here, unf, i have an black screen, i presume the safe texture and copy to texture, is a the trick, copy to ram seens like dont is using AA. wath you say?

Sorry i meant to say copy to texture lol, and safe texture cache is supposed to be enabled to fix some bugs but its not crucial.
Im using d3d for playing right now so i don't use AA (games look awesome now in d3d), even in OGL i would set the use real XFB to to make the ingame filters not look crappy, so no AA either.
How can I fix the abysmal fps? I have a very decent rig, so it's not a hardware issue. Would using D3D improve the situation and how do I enable it (since it's not on the drop down menu in the properties)?
install latest directX...don't ask, just do it.
D3D works even worse. Hmm. So far, OpenGL helps me get 20-30 fps, with minor graphic glitches. If anyone has ideas on how to improve performance, please elaborate! Also, does anyone know how to synchronize the sound better? These are the settings I use so far:

Dual core enabled
Idle skipping enabled
Optimize quantizers enabled
Enable EFB to RAM enabled
Safe texture cache enabled
Use panic handlers disabled
Resoultion: native
Auto scale enabled
Anti alias 2x
Copy EFB to system RAM (real) enabled
Use safe texture cache enabled
Enable EFB to TEXTURE! TEXTURE PEOPLE This should be a default setting in dolphin. and don't use AA, specially in d3d where it doesn't work and its not needed cause it looks awesome.
oh yeah and be sure to select under CPU emulator engine in the settings "jitIL experimental recompiler"
yep, does some mod read this? EFB to texture DEFAULT, please!

So i have been playing this game a little on dolphin, i have somehow managed to finish dragon sequence and got to the ghastly ruins but after the big room where you fall through floor i have encoutered a slight problem - my screen goes black. Literally. The game is working i can see my hp gauge , enter menu(its not black screen in menu) and even move the cursor that is used as crosshair for magic but other than that the screen is black(i can't see the character nor the enviroment and enemies). I have managed to go through that "wall" that was attacking me by walking south and even entered crystal chamber , the screen came back on cutscene but go black again after i get control of character and i have no idea how to fix this. Anyone else encountered this and fixed it?
PS.I used most of the settings that were posted here and the game worked perfectly fine with good fps and everything till that moment that i explained above :/
Also on side note, how to use d3d plugin? it seems i have it when i check plugin catalog but i can't choose it from the plugin selection in program.(i got only opengl and software renderer to choose from)
Also if it will be usefull, my computer:
intel core 2 duo E8400 @ 3.00Ghz / 2gb ram / nVidia Geforce 9600GT 512mb / using windows xp.
@Tangerinus

disable safe texture cache for that part of the game and any other part where you encounter the same problem, alternatively you can use the bleach versus crusade hack.

and to get the d3d plugin just update directx9.
@Tangerinus
Some places you have to uncheck "use Safe Texture Cache" to be able to see. for d3d plugin you have to upgrade your directx sdk to the DirectX SDK(August 2009).
