Dolphin, the GameCube and Wii emulator - Forums

I downloaded a dev version of Dolphin and updated it,but when I have the Wii Menu booted and press A to continue it freezes and the screen looks like this in the screenshot.

When you say updated, do you mean you used Dolphin built-in Wii menu downloader (Tools > Perform Online System Update)?

Do you have a NAND dump from your Wii, or are you just trying to load the Wii Menu as a .wad file? Because I think you need a full NAND, but I could be wrong.

If you just install the Wii Menu on its own, the Wii Menu itself should be able to boot, but you won't be able to launch any channels from it due to not having any IOSes installed.

That usually happens if your NAND is overfull. Did you install a bunch of virtual console games.

No,I don't use virtual console on Dolphin.

Built in Wii Menu is what I have and did.But I don't have a NAND of it.

So if I did that I won't be able to use the Mii Channel,or the other channels like Forecast Channel or News Channel?

Yes, you won't be able to use those channels until you install a full NAND dump or perform a system update.

Ok,so like would I have to mod my Wii for the NAND if I wanted to do it the NAND way?But system update would be for Dolphin right?

Yes.

You can do a system update in Dolphin without involving a real Wii.
