I’m having a horrible time trying to configure games using gameini.

I’ve looked at this thread, and unless I’m missing something, I don’t see the answer.

When I open the properties for a specific game and select edit config I get a blank ini file in notepad. I’m adding the line that I need (PadProfile1 = profilename) and it creates the file and stores it in user\username\documents\dolphin emulator\gamesettings. They don’t seem to have any effect, and when I close dolphin they disappear. I’m thinking that maybe what should be happening is that when I select edit config, I should be seeing are the ini files that resides in ProgramFiles\Dolphin\Sys\Gamesetting.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You need to add not only the line you mentioned, but also a section line before it. So in your case, it would be:

PadProfile1 = profilename

The files in Program Files\Dolphin\Sys\GameSettings\ can be accessed with the Show Defaults button, and should not be edited.
