Cheers everyone!

Due to my overclocked i5-3570k slowly but surely dying (already had to decrease the clock by 200MHz while increasing voltage), I'm gonna give my HTPC an upgrade in the coming month.

I've got two CPU options which I'm still not sure about though regarding Dolphin performance (and nothing else):

Ryzen 5 3600

or

i5-9600k

Which one would yield the better performance in Dolphin, or should they be on par?

Thanks in advance!
If you uncapped emulation speed, the intel CPU would perform better in Dolphin.

However, both CPUs will run everything in Dolphin perfectly fine. Given that RAM speed is less important in Zen2, the Ryzen 5 build will likely be cheaper for the same end result.
Try going for the Ryzen 3600. It should offer you acceptable performance.

Plus, it very affordable to pick up when you upgrade/build a new PC. Thought it would be best to only pick it up if your planning to use it for gaming.

Regardless. Both CPU you listed above should be fine.
