Then the direct 3d plugin should be in the graphics option.

I love how no one on this board will link the getting started thread. It's just update directx with no direction at all. This kind of useless helping would never pass at xbox-hq or 360-hq.

alright! it works! thank you very much for the links, it worked perfectly, now just one more question. i have my ps3 controller set up on my computer, but i cant get it to work for the rom. how do i get it to work?

Mm...Try using NJOY plugin pad.

i got my ps3 controller to work somewhat, it lets me set the buttons to my controller sometimes, then othertimes it wont let me. i cant seem to get it to work all the time. is there a driver i can download to make it work better or something?

I have tried this but is out of Dolphin. Download this:

Connect by USB then open ps3sixaxis_en.
Press the PS button on the pad from 3-10 seconds and the computer will reconigze it.

didnt help, it still registers the controller in set up when i move the dpad, it moves the red dots but wont let me set as the controller for any game
