I just downloaded and scanned 5.0-10960 build with Windows Defender and there were no alerts...
No issues here either. Spun up a Windows 10 VM with the latest updates.

Users are known for having broken systems.
Not much issues here. But I never seen Windows Defender detected Dolphin Emulator as a false positive.
Latest Defender version 1.303.1283.0 and still Trojan detected downloading Dolphin 5.0-10965; now tell me that my system is not up to date...
Like I said, the false alarm was fixed on October 2nd and since then Dolphin isn't getting flagged anymore. The false alarm was caused by their cloud definitions, not the local definitions. If you're really sure your system is updated and still is getting Dolphin flagged you should run the commands mentioned on this post to force refresh both your local and cloud definitions, or either wait until Windows Defender itself does...

Edit: Windows Defender is flagging every single build now. Expect an official statement soon.
I tried that workthrough but Dynamic Signature removal.Failed! Error 0x80070005 , then I tried to download 5.0-10979 and Windows Defender didn't detect it as a virus, so maybe the problem is now solved?
I'm getting a trojan alert with windows defender trying to download 5.0-10993. I have successfully updated dolphin multiple times between Oct. 2nd and now - there must be an even newer issue than the one you guys keep referring to that was fixed on Oct. 2nd. I'm up to date.
It's still a known issue. We're preparing a statement with more details shortly. It's still a false detection. In the meantime, please report these false detections to Microsoft. Hopefully they can stop flagging Dolphin like this.
Just saying this has happened to me too on defintions version 1.303.1946.0
This is a fresh install of Win10 that I just installed yesterday, so I seriously doubt it's my system being broken or having old caches on it.

It did show in it's detection that it was the updater.exe that triggered it and that it thought it was a Trojan. I've submitted it as a false positive, but thought it might help if you at least know for sure what it's detecting.
