Paper Mario TTYD can't locate/save to the memory card after using save states.

Is there any way to fix this?

This can only be fixed by reloading the game from the latest memory card save.

There is a trick you can do:
1) Do a save state for backup
2) Reset the game and delete the in-game save file you were using.
3) Do a load state to return were you left and do a in-game save.
The save game feature will now work.
