Full Version: Installing Dolphin 3.5 on Arch Linux

I compared Dolphin 3.5 and Dolphin 5.0-10630 on Windows 10, and when playing Mario Kart Wii at native internal resolution using OpenGL as graphics API, I noticed that I was getting 60 FPS while in-game on Dolphin 3.5 while I was only getting around 30 FPS while in-game on Dolphin 5.0.

That's why I tried to install Dolphin 3.5 on Arch Linux too.

I found a package for Dolphin 3.5 in the Arch Linux Historical Archive: https://archive.org/download/archlinux_pkg_dolphin-emu
but when I tried to install it using pacman like the Arch Wiki says to:
Code:
sudo pacman -U https://archive.org/download/archlinux_pkg_dolphin-emu/dolphin-emu-1%3A3.5-7-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz
I got this error message:
Code:
warning: cannot resolve "lzo2", a dependency of "dolphin-emu"
warning: cannot resolve "wxgtk2.9", a dependency of "dolphin-emu"
:: The following package cannot be upgraded due to unresolvable dependencies:
     dolphin-emu
I could not find "wxgtk2.9" in the Arch Linux Historical Archive, I could find version 2.8 and 3.0 of it though.

Could you help me install Dolphin 3.5 even if it is an old version? Or is it not normal for Dolphin 5.0 to be much slower than Dolphin 3.5?
Sorry, we can't help you with 3.5.

It is normal for 3.5 to be faster than the latest version, but that's because it's lacking a lot of accuracy improvements.
Alright, thanks.
Note that your CPU is far from being good enough for Dolphin these days. And GL *sucks* on AMD GPUs.
