Even if you implemented streaming via some network interface, I assume you'd want to cache data in case it's read again. And if you start caching enough data, you may as well just dump the disk image. Which defeats the purpose of streaming...

I suppose this would have some possible use if you don't want to store the disk image on the PC running it because... Yeah, I dunno. I'm at a loss here as well trying to see the utility here.

Yes that's what I was talking about. Using the Wii as a kind of network attached drive and streaming data from the drive across a network.
