If you can't get past that part, you are very likely to have other problems later.
so if it was a bounding box issue, which version should I jump back to where those weren't a problem?
(06-22-2019, 02:57 PM)Ferbstorm Wrote: [ -> ]I think you misunderstood. I get through the start screen, it loads into the game into the intro bit where Mario receives the letter that Luigi reads aloud (past where you would load a save), then it transitions to the boat on open water, saying Paper Mario and the Thousand Year Door. From there, it fades to white, where it would normally transition to the prologue intro screen (the revolving coin on a stage with stage curtains etc). But instead, it fades to white and then immediately goes back to the main dolphin menu where you select the game you want to play. No error message or nothing. So if this is just an issue with the start of the game but the rest of it is good to go then loading a save that's past that point would be just fine. In my brain noggin, at least.
Ah, I misunderstood you. That's the Bounding Box issue mentioned earlier, try switching from OpenGL to Vulkan backend (or vice versa), if this doesn't fix it, this game is unplayable on your phone. It utilizes Bounding Box in a lot of places and even if you bypass the intro with a save file made on your PC, the game will crash on your phone later on when the next Bounding Box effect is utilized. Entering/Exiting pipes, some cutscenes, entering/exiting paper forms, all of that utilizes Bounding Box and on all those situations your phone will crash if its drivers can't handle Bounding Box...

There is no such version.

Sweet! Switching the backend fixed it. It spat out a bunch of errors at me, but then continued to function just fine. The boat flip did slow everything down a lot though. Hopefully later bounding box stuff won't be nearly so taxing.
Thanks for all the help everyone, I really appreciate it
Bounding Box will be taxing until they implement optional extensions... aka never
