Hmm, it could be related to some usb device that is plugged it, like a microphone or headset maybe? Something that the emulated wii might be able to try to use.
Could be. I have a USB headset plugged in always. I will check when I’m back in town. I also have another BT dongle but I had tested with and without it with the same result.
Unless the Wii's going to try and grab a Steam Controller dongle or my keyboard and mouse, the only other USB device it had access to in my case was the external USB drive which actually had the game on.
USB devices apart from BT Modules and the GameCube adapter needs to be manually whitelisted on Dolphin's USB Passthrough settings before the emulated games can see them, so other devices you might have attached (theoretically) shouldn't interfere...
Has anyone checked if this PR fixes the issue? I’m out of town until Thursday but it looks promising.

I tried 5.0-10603 today and the issue still happens.
Unfortunate. Thanks for the info.
We think we have a fix for this but it will disable usbdk support.

I noticed the PR and was curious to test it out. My Visual Studio is outdated and instead of building the PR myself, could someone remind me where the PR-builds are located, nowadays? Seems I just can't find the folder where they used to be.

As a note, the first and only encounter I had with this issue so far was when I started Metroid Prime Trilogy. You can start the game, but Dolphin hangs when you launch one of the three games. It just shows the "loading" screen forever.

The issue can be avoided by disabling wiimote passthrough. I have a self-soldered Wii-BT-module with libusbk -drivers.

Um, just click "Show all checks" on the end of the PR page and then click on "Details" of the relevant entry (e.g. pr-win-x64 for Windows). It'll open another page where you can find a download link on the "upload" build step...
