Action Replay codes are locked to their set region. However, they can be edited to work with other versions of the game, which gilavsaneh has demonstrated here. I ported a friendship code for the game to the US version myself a few days ago, but I haven't been able to figure out how to port these ones just yet. OP, if you would be willing to share the original versions of the codes, or any that might work for EntiChime and myself (US codes), that would be much appreciated. For now, here is the code for villager friendship (not bachelorettes):

05303864 18000000
4d5eacc8 00000001
00000000 81086353
00000064 00200124

It should work for the US version of the game. I tested it myself and was able to get Ruby's Spice and Daryl's Seed Maker in one day on a file that previously had low friendship values with them. The original PAL code was made by Jaytheham on the GameHacking site (not sure if I'm allowed to link to it here, but searching that will bring it up on Google).

Alright, so I realized that OP hasn't been online in a year, so the chances of them ever coming back are looking pretty slim. In the meantime, I ported most of these codes, so they'll work on the US version of the game. Hopefully, this will be helpful for you and anyone else who might be looking for these. I know I would have liked having them a few days ago... Nonetheless, these have been tested on a new file, but if they don't work for your game, I do apologize. I didn't know how to test the "Drownies Tolerance" code myself, so I didn't port it. I hope you can understand. The item codes gilavsaneh posted originally work with these codes, so I'd suggest copying them into a text file for your convenience.

NTSC-U (USA) Codes for Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life [GYWEE9]:

The tool shed code gives you many different kinds of items, including 127 blue feathers. Please throw these out if you have given them to your desired bachelorette or just don't touch them. Ever. They are sure to mess up your game. Also, I don't know how to make it give you only 99 items instead of 127, so sorry about that. If anyone wanted to casually tell us how, though, that would be cool. Thank you. ^^;

Alright, so while I am sure that there won't be many people who need this, I did think it would be helpful to those who will need it in the future, including myself if I ever forget it. I figured out how to edit the shelf, dairy bin, and freezer codes to my advantage. Some of this information may be applied to other codes for this game as well, such as the d-pad controls. However, know that other titles will use different codes for these inputs, so this can't apply to any games other than HM:AWL.

For the first exercise, we'll use a shortened shelf code with variables for the sake of the tutorial:
However, that's not all there is to this code. In order to use this code effectively, you must also be able to determine where the items should go, how items will be chosen to put in the set, and how many items to put in each set.

For the next part of this tutorial, we'll use our new code with new variables:
Assuming you followed the tutorial to a t or just copied the final code, you should end up with a code that gives you 50 of the three special flowers and 50 of each basic fruit with S-ranks on each of them when you press left on the d-pad. I hope this tutorial helps you with editing AR codes for this game! Be sure to play around with the values to get different combinations of items too.

THANK YOU for this. I have gone back and forth with this game because of the lack of good AR codes and info out there and this really helped. Do you know of any codes to get your son interested in a certain field or have his skills high in one field? Another problem with old games is the lack of information on how to do things ( I remember I used to pick up the toddler and take him to the archeology site because I though that would make his scholar skill go up... did that even do anything????)

Oof, I'm so sorry for replying so late. I don't know any codes that would do that, but I do know there are certain rare crops that will make him interested in certain fields. I do think bringing him to the archeology site should have helped if you showed him to Carter or Flora, but more than that, it's important to become friends with Carter, Flora, and Daryl, and it's important to show him things that relate to science and archeology. Things like the milker and any digsite item will definitely be of use to you here. One particular guide that I find helpful is Nekoko's Child FAQ on GameFAQs. I wish I could do more to help than just linking the page here, but I'm a novice coder myself, so I haven't had the chance to figure that one out yet. If I ever do, I'll be sure to post it here, though!
