Hello,
Has anybody had the experience where after about an hour of straight play the emulator freezes and resets back to the main game selection menu?
Thanks very much.

Phantasy Star Online EP1 & 2
I don't recall it happening on the Samsung S8+ but I am noticing it on the S10+. Regular as clockwork as I am timing it as well, its just under an hour or approaching an hours play the game freezes at whatever point on whatever stage and resets back to the GUI. I was looking for a setting someone maybe there was a timer or something causing this to happen but I couldn't find anything obvious.

That only happens right when you're starting the game.

Telling us what build you´re using and making sure to not use cheats could also help.
Hi DJBarry004,
Thank you for your reply.
Yes I had already not synced the calendar but even if you tried to it wouldn't even let you past that point to load the game at all so it's not that.
No, it's whilst playing the game for a period of time, all going well then all of a sudden the game freezes and 10 seconds later it goes back to the dolphin games menu.
The build I am using is 5.0-9888.
I am wondering if there's a setting somewhere that could fix this because it's odd that the game runs perfectly fine for that period of time then all of a sudden for no reason at all freezes!
Again thanks for your reply.

It sounds like it's crashing. Is there anything happening around the time of the crash? A specific point? Is it random, if you just sit in one spot for a period of time will it crash? Does the same crash happen on another device if you have one you can use.

Hi JMC47,
Nothing special is happening that I can see or notice. It does happen at random points of the game so it's not specific to any area or at a boss fight or anything like that. My character could be running from an empty room and it would happen just as it could happen during a battle.
The pattern I found was that it tends to happen after playing it for around an hour or just less than an hour. So what I am having to do now to get anywhere in the game is play it in 30 minute bursts, save the game, quit out of dolphin completely, go back into it and start the game again.
As for your other question, no I have not seen this happen on my other Samsung phone but the emulator doesn't play as well on the S8+ that's why I have transferred to playing it on the S10+ as it runs almost flawlessly

The phone has a massive amount of ram so that shouldn't be it. Try asynchronous? I personally kinda suspect a cache problem.
Hi Destroyer,
I haven't played many other games especially for a long period of time so I can't say if it happens on another game.
I have noticed another pattern though.
After about 15 or so minutes, the game freezes for a few then resumes ok. Then 15 minutes later, the game freezes again but this time for about 5 - 10 seconds, then resumes again. Then after a further 15 minutes, the game freezes again but at this point never recovers and crashes to the start menu. I don't know what to make of it really and don't know where else to check. Very odd behavior.
I've played Wind Waker for hours on my phone, but I purposefully disabled a bunch of performance governors ahead of time to do that. Otherwise the powersaving options would freak out.

What phone are you using? I'm using the S10+ but I am new to the phone and don't know how best to tweak it for dolphin, that is if it's the phone causing this issue which I don't know for sure.
