Is it of the box form factor or the stick form factor? Only the former works, since the latter can't run 64-bit apps.

Games i tested on my Nvidia Shield TV 2017 with vulkan and 720p resolution.

Games that work very well for me:

Bomberman Generation (GC)
Mario Power Tennis (GC)
Mario Superstar Baseball (GC)
Pikmin 2 (GC)
Serious Sam: Next Encounter (GC)
Super Mario Strikers (GC)
Super Smash Bros. Melee (GC)
Mario Kart: Double Dash (GC)
Mario Party 4 (GC)
Timesplitters 2 (GC)

New Super Mario Bros. Wii - audio stutters and fps drops to 45-50 are common in some levels, but is playable.
Super Mario Bros. 3 + (Wii) - same as original, but can crash. Disabling panic-handlers seems to fix te issue.
Newer Super Mario Bros. Wii - A tiny bit slower imo than original, but has never crashed. Still very much playable.
Mario Kart Wii - playable with 30 fps AR code hack. (2 player is a meh)
Wii sports - plays like shit, lol.

I found trying to play the Wii games are annoying hey as you got to configure the controller properly and its hard because the Wii controller was wierd. I changed a few buttons on my ps4 controller and tested a couple of Wii games also and another game that runs perfect is Ready to Rumble Revolution. No frame drops just got to try and configure the controller properly for the stupid wii controller motions lol.

Also Naruto Clash of the Ninja runs pretty well if you over ride clock speed to 60%, its the Pal version.

I got the Nvidia shield 2019 pro also. Great little machine, just wish it could run Gamecube games a little faster. There are so many that run at around 10 fps less then they supposed to and just need that little bit of speed boost to help it somehow.

The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction runs very well, and is an awesome game.

Do you have the "cylinder" Nvidia Shield? If yes, it won't work because it's 32 bit.

What are the settings you used for Super Smash bros gamecube ?

Great thread! Props to the original poster for his info & efforts.

I too have a Standard Nvidia Shield TV, 2017 model.

I was pretty good with emulation on lower end android stuff prior to the Shield. Very impressed with some of the stuff you can get close to perfect. With this and PSP emulation it's like having a PS2 again on top of all the other consoles.

Here's what I know with Gamecube emulation & games.

I started using Pal (Europe) Roms. It does make a slight tweak on a lot of games. You prob wouldn’t notice but I did on Mario Kart Double Dash. Just slightly smother and a better experience.

All of these are Eur Roms & Vulkan. I even swapped out the ones I originally had as US. I’ve kept the resolution the same as standard –through laziness tbh. I'm using google play version of Dolphin.

Works great:

Def Jam Vendetta (the 1st one – 2nd one doesn’t run apparently Fight for NY or something..) Works- Straight out of the box - no messing. Just Works. Perfect. Never played it before. Great Game. Loads of fun. Essentially WWF Smack Down with Rappers. Recommended.

Tony Hawk 3 works great – Vulkan - Out of the box - only one level (Tokyo) Dips frames and stutters sounds but I changed the clock speed down to around 50 to 65% and its almost un-noticeable on that level and everything else, all the other levels are smooth as. Amazing.

Tony Hawk 4 runs great again. I heard it didn’t but I love these games and thought I would try it out. Pleasantly surprised. if you mess about lowering the Clock Speed down. I'm at work writing this & don’t have access to my actual settings but I think if you lower it around 50 to 65% it works great.

Enter the Matrix – Works - very playable - certain annoying levels - on rail shooter sections in the Car etc - it dips in frame rate and sound - but they are few and far between and they don’t last very long. I’ve not experimented with clock speeds yet. It does slow down when its busy but I still played it front to back and will prob go back and have a mess around with the clock speeds.

Resident Evil 4 – Plays great occasionally slows down but nothing huge. Again – this was before I started messing with clock speeds.

Freedom Fighters – The same as Resident Evil 4. Plays great - occasionally slows down but nothing huge Amazing Game.

Terminator 3 Redemption ( I think it’s called) Works pretty good – One of the first I downloaded. Need to experiment with it but I had fun with it and it looked ok. Slowed down on very busy points – im sure I can tweak it.

Simpsons Road Rage – Just Works – Straight out of the box – no messing. Full speed. It's essentially a Crazy Taxi rip off.

WWE Day of Reckoning 2 – Just works. _ good game. Full speed no issues. There is a Wrestlemania game too that works which is very similar but Im not sure which one (not at home at mo). Recommended.

Bad Boys 2 – Works – Seems ok – not the best game though…

Burnout (the 1st one) - Just Works. No issues. I've heard the later ones are much better but struggle.

Viewtiful Joe - Quirky and fun. Works great.

Crash Team Nitro - Just Works. No issues.

Lugi’s Mansion - Works great - Slight slow downs. I have since swapped this from a US Rom to a Europe one and I am hoping it will make it even smoother.

Super monkeyball 2. Works great. No real issues.

Dosen't Work:

Star Wars Rouge Squadron – I Can’t get it to a playable speed. It sounds and looks, horribly slow.

Batman – The Rize of Sin Zu – Can’t get it anywhere near playable to make it fun. Same as Rouge Squadron really...

Rocky - Slow sound and bad frame-rate. Deleted it after a few goes messing with settings.

I have more but I think they’ve already been covered in the earlier posts.

No, I have the Nvidia Shield 2017 with the regular stock Shield Android TV and all latest updates applied.

Should installing Dolphin via Google Play work in general? Is this the correct link for the latest version?
I can install Dolphin on Devices with "regular" Android but not on Android TV for the Nvidia Shield.
I'd like to interject and say that Dolphin isn't available for me as well through that method.
I'd also like to add that I too have a 2017 Nvidia Shield TV and can run it just fine when sideloaded.

I'm not an Android developer nor have I any clue what is necessary for having the installation working in Android TV out of the box but are the flags all set and is the "Activity for TV" in the manifest?
