Full Version: RE3 Black screen after first door.

Everything works great, right up until after jill breaks down the door, escapes the zombies, and you get the first door open sequence (before factory) It stays frozen, just a black screen.

I'd really rather not switch back to the recent dev version, IF, I can help it, as I get insufferable udio stutters whenever I play RE 2 and 3, so it's why I downgraded back to 5.0. No audio stutters at all with 5.0

RE2 works fine without any freezes with 5.0 btw. But not RE3 for some reason. if anyone can help I'd greatly appreciate it. my settings are below. Thanks.

Can you check the recent dev version to see if it still hangs? We purposefully removed a hack (which is why the audio is broken) but that may have also fixed the crash.

Thanks for the response and I tested dev version 5.0-9616 and it still hangs at the first door after it's open with a black screen. Sad
Can you turn on the logging and see what it's saying? The log settings should be under "view" in the toolbar.

Okay so, I checked show log under the view tab and the log box is black, there's no information or any text that comes up when I launch RE3. I played to the first door, it hung, and yea, no text whatsoever almost as if it didn't recognize a game running, I should say, I've never used the log option so i dont know the ins and outs.
You need to enable the logging in the log configuration page.

There's a lot of boxes and options, i'm unsure how to do this.
Just enable all logs, there should be a button for it. I'm guessing you'll get the game reporting a crash dump when it crashes. Alternatively, depending on how far in this is, I can test it myself. I'll admit I've only played a little of the GameCube Resident Evil games, and I'm not very good at them.

Okay so I played right up to the door hanging again, I waited on black screen for a bit and then exited. I should say, no NEW text came up after I went through the door and it hung.

Anyone found a fix for this? Really wanna play RE3 but I get the same issues.
