Just some tips to avoid throttling:
Do not use Game Launcher on Battery Saving or Balanced
Do not limit cpu usage at 70%, it's a good way to cool down but it set a lower throttling line.
Change resolution to HD
Lower the brightness
Usually throttling happens when battery reaches 37-38 degrees. So with a simple app to monitor battery temperature you will know of you need to lower brightness or resolution. I managed to play 2 hours without throttling and under 35 degrees for battery temp.
Obviously it depends also from ambient temperature. If you live in a volcano it's a problem.
