Just tried once more after creating a save file, no good. I just chose magma man, died 3x, and then hit "save" to create a save file in the first slot. Then I quit the game, installed the DLC wad, and launched up. Still have ?????? for those two modes. Is it possible you need to have a save file wherein you've completed the game or something like that?

Also, every time after I install the DLC wad, if I hit "check NAND" I get this message. Don't know if it's significant or not but thought I'd mention it.

Edit: How do I make sure both MM9 and the DLC are properly uninstalled? I've just been deleted the Wii folder and assuming that was doing the job...
That's interesting! I don't get that message after installing. Can you check the system menu's savedata section (Load System Menu 4.3u) and see if there's an issue. I'm going to rewatch your videos more carefully and see if I catch anything.

I uninstalled them via the Emulated System Menu.

Are they really going to shut down the update servers as well on that date? All I've heard for sure is that you won't be able to purchase things anymore (if you already have Wii Points in your account that you can spend).
So should deleting the Wii folder effectively uninstall both MM9 and the DLC? I don't have the wii system menu..
If you do the Wii System Update you have the Wii System Menu.

Why don't you hop on IRC at some point and ping me on server Freenode channel #dolphin-emu

Probably more efficient than forum posts. I feel like we can solve this.
Sounds good, thanks. I'm going to hit the sack but should be on tomorrow around 5pm central time and later.

After doing some reading, it looks like I may need a full NAND in order for this DLC to work correctly. I barely even have a concept of what a NAND is but my understanding is that it's unique to each console and so you have to get ahold of a physical wii console in order to get one. If that's the case, then it looks like this just got more complicated.

Unless you're telling me you're able to get the DLC working without dumping a full NAND from a wii, and just using the default files that come with dolphin?

Funnily enough I stumbled upon one of your older comments about this:

Nah, I got all the DLC working in the latest builds, so my comments are outdated. Can you turn on logging during the checknand and show us that? It should give us a clue as to what's going on. It looks like something went horribly wrong while installing the DLC.
I think this is what you want. I turned on logging, then installed the DLC wad, ran check NAND, and hit "yes" when asked if I wanted to repair it. I turned on all log types because I wasn't sure which ones you might want.

Your Wii NAND is extremely messed up. Perhaps your manual deletion of the files has resulted in a problem and made things much worse.
Hmm. Well, I'm on IRC; I think I sent you a pm on there, not entirely sure. Hit me up or send a message to me on here when you're on and I'll hop on. Should be free most of the day
