Sorry, I'm a complete noob to this forum because I just made this account to ask this question.
So I bought a GameCube controller adapter, and while it works fine on the Nintendo Switch and WiiU (it's intended use), I decided to try and use it to play some Super Smash Bros. Melee. I changed the USB driver with Zadig and tried disconnecting the adapter, reinstalling the driver, restarting my computer, etc. None of it has worked.
The adapter is third party so I don't think it will be able to use the native support (for the WiiU official adapter and Mayflash), but when I try and configure it as a standard controller, Dolphin doesn't see the adapter at all.
How do I get the adapter to work, or is it not possible?

If the ID for the device shows up as 057E 0337 in Zadig, it is compatible with Dolphin's native support, and you have to set it up as "GameCube Adapter for Wii U" rather than "Standard Controller". If it isn't compatible with Dolphin's native support, there's no point in using Zadig.

It shows up as 057E 0337, and Dolphin says that it detects a GameCube adapter (yay!), but then
the controller doesn't actually do anything in-game.
Anyway, thanks for helping!
EDIT: So Dolphin recognizes the adapter, but
once I start a game Dolphin stops detecting it. I think that's the reason for the problem, but I don't know how to fix it.
Actem, I have the same problem have you ever fixed it?

I have the same exact issue using the Nyko Retro Controller Hub. It's also detected as 057E 0337 by Zadig. Maybe there's some sort of Switch mode they're set to internally instead of Wii U? Not sure

Nope, I've had no luck fixing it.
Hopefully devs are looking into this. It seems to affect several brands of generic adapter which all have the USB ID 057E 0337
I'm not sure I can help but if you post your dolphin and controller configuration files, it may help the devs find issues.
All I can say is that the adapter is detected until after you actually boot a game
having the same problem. Specifically with Karges GameCube Controller Adapter. Works fine for switch, not at all for dolphin. Like Don said, it says adapter detected until I load a game, and then it just flickers between detected and not detected.
