Cortex-A76 is meant to run at max clock without suffer from thermal throttling. It's important to remember that Cortex-A76 have been totally reinvented (according to ARM), it's not an upgrade from Cortex-A75, so we can expect the regular annual improvements and maybe even more.

Yeah and custon Qualcomm A76 is better. [Image: llike-thumb-outline-lineal-filled-450w-1170970150.jpg]
Boy people are hyping this up. Prepare to be disappointed! Of course the pre-release marketing stuff will make it look good. As they wouldn't release the bad-looking numbers!

Does everyone forget the hype for every previous generation?
I mean, these are Android users, so

When stop being arrogance.

Dude this has nothing to do with me using Android. I was actually using an iPhone 7 before this.
I am just into mobile tech and mobile emulators. Been that way since the Sony PSP.
Its just fascinating for me to be able to play my favorite childhood games on the go.

I'm not trying to compare Android vs iPhone in any way. I'm just saying be wary of (likely) cherry-picked prerelease results. Especially when we've already seen devices that score well in some of the benchmarks here, but fail completely at Dolphin (*cough* mongoose *cough*).
then why y'all falling for the same promises year after year
I'm not being hyped, I'm being realistic. I said we can expect the usual improvement of every new architecture, but there's a small chance of it being better. If you analysis the ARM page of A75 and A76 you will see the aim of both architecture are completely different, with A75 focusing on improve performance efficiecy over A73/A72 and the initial AI integration, and A76 being an architecture promissing to bring laptop-class performance with mobile efficiency. Also they mention a far better single-threaded performance.

Quote:[...]With superior energy efficiency and far greater single-threaded performance, the Cortex-A76 CPU extends battery life and improves user experience for sustained high performance across even the most complex compute tasks.

Fortunately, for Qualcomm SoCs, there have almost never been disregarded. (only for that disgust of Cortex-A57 and because of ARM, who had promised "amazing efficiency" at high frequencies, then we know how it ended)

The final results do not differ much from reality.

In this case we have an architecture completely rewritten from scratch.

Most likely, it will be the natural evolution of Artemis architecture.
