it's a CPU frequency governor. If you root your phone you can (at your own risk) set the CPU frequency governing profiles to something unsupported and often times they give better performance.

If you want more information on this, check out XDA, unfortunately nobody here is particularly qualified to give safe instructions on how to do that.
The Razer Phone likely has some controls for CPU in the synapse app. I don’t know if rooting is worth it, you have to unlock bootloder + wipe data and following that install Magisk modules to keep safetynet from breaking. Try and find a solution without doing that.

it is a simple but powerful governor at the same time.

If well set, it combines maximum performance with balanced consumption.

in xda, there are some guides on how to best configure this governor (I have it by default, on my Nokia), I used it on a LG G1 with root.

If you do not want to root, there is an app called Game Booster for the Razor.

Interesting, I have not rooted my phone before but I have looked into it in the past.

Do you guys run Dolphin on your phones?

Does it work well?
On my Nokia 8, it goes great.

Until now, only one game has given me problems of texturing flicker: Beach Spikers

That I will have to retest soon.

What are your settings?
default, I leave cpu without overclocking (50 for particularly demanding games), I use the OpenSLES without tweek (at most septum at 1024, to minimize distortions and sound crackles), enable or disable the BackendMultithreading (usually I leave it disabled), disable copyfilter and mipmapdetection, enable XFB immediate, disable SyncOnSkipIdle.

Thanks, I'll try that!
