would i benefit from this? i have a Galaxy S20 Ultra and play Metroid at 4k 16x, forced stretch, consistant 60FPS while in 1440p 60hz mode in Android settings. 120HZ takes too much power i think

not really.
It's just that these threads fall into a weird edge case with the intent of the rule where the thread is continuously bumped within the time limits of the necroposting rule, resetting the timer.
One could argue that this thread serves no purpose anymore and to lock it, but the developer of the fork could show interest in Dolphin again. And given their limited knowledge of English, it would be difficult to figure out why their thread was locked.

Unlikely. The developer is currently working on his fork of Citra.
Sadly this fork is still faster than the official even on my new Redmi note 9 pro phone, I hope the dev picks this project again if he takes a rest from Citra. And hopefully provides source this time for the latest builds so we will avoid all the drama.
Also I can only play Eternal Darkness horror game in the MMJ builds, the official Dolphin has black screens at many points making it unplayable in both Vulkan and OpenGL in the two phones I have with different chips, Snapdragon and Kirin
