When I was using official Android 6.0.1 with driver version r7p0, I had a huge slow down when trying to play some games at 2xPSP resolution on PPSSPP. After update to a custom 7.0 ROM (my phone didn't receive official 7.0) based on official kernel released for other phones with same SoC, I got also a driver update to r15p0. Suddenly got some graphic bugs fixed and no more huge slow down at 2xPSP resolution, I had the same performance at both resolutions. But all this before 1.6 update with multithreaded OpenGL, I have a very good performance now, higher at 1xPSP than 2xPSP, but still better than before.

Take a look at some videos on YT of Exynos-based Galaxy S or Mediatek phones powered with Mali GPU, they have a poor performance running Dolphin. Just compare Exynos Galaxy S9 to Snapdragon Galaxy S9. According to Geekbench, the Exynos variant of S9 has a faster CPU, but doesn't look like it. PPSSPP isn't a good comparison base because it doesn't require as much GPU features as Dolphin, but bad drivers still affected my experience.

Yes, you're right, Mali also have poor support.

Yes, the CPU is a gem, but is castrated by the GPU. (poor drivers)

I used ppsspp on a Snapdragon 800 and flew with the native resolution of my ex device (1920x1080), an LG G2.

PS: at the moment, the best SoC to play with any emulator, is the Qualcomm Snapdragon.(from 625 to 845)

With adReno = Radeon (Know ex ATI? Big Grin)
Another very nice thing:

I'm no longer using the overclock option, as you see in the screen, I play all my titles in this way.
(10-20-2018, 05:13 AM)Guilherme Wrote: [ -> ]Still not accurate. I asked if this build makes the Mali GPU as fast or nearly as fast as equivalent SoC powered with Adreno GPU (Snapdragon), which has "good" drivers. Bacause this could have fixed all the issues, but the performance could still be far from Snapdragon equivalent SoC, for example...
Since I don't have acces to a snapdragon 835/845 device at moment I can't say much about the relative peformance. What I can say is that this build does improve peformance on some games but most importantly make games that were previously unplayable due to displaying a solid color (had something to do with a missing vulkan extension or something like that) work fine now. Which makes games like resident evil 4 and mario kart double dash run fine for me at mostly full speed. You will need to set all games to vulkan though since opengl currently still misses the EXT_BUFFER_STORAGE extension which makes it run very slow. Keep in mind that I'm on the exynos 9810, older or different exynos cpu's will probably peform worse.

Thanks for reply! Let's hope that soon Mali devices can play games without issues.
I installed weihuoya's version yesterday and everything worked fine (ok it warned me during installation about an "unknown .apk file" and if I wanted to continue the installation at my own risk). Then later I uninstalled the app and today I downloaded it again to install it: but today I can't install it anymore (error at the end on installation "the app couldn't be installed")! How's that possible?
Model version, Architecture Version, GL and Vulkan API version, Driver version and Android version, please.

PS: deactivate even that crap of google play protect, please.

Yes, I read your post.

Pie creates problems, not just for a Dolphin emulator.
