I'm running games like windwaker, twilight princess, resident evil 4, double dash etc. just fine. So shouldn't you be able to do that as well?
That's what I thought too, but the game I tended to test the most, Wind Waker (which ran decently most of the time but tended to slow down in the lava rooms in the first dungeon), no matter what build I used, if I had the recommended settings, I'd always have the same slowdown at the same point, and with Vulkan, I couldn't tick an option that would increase performance because then I'd just get a bunch of errors until it crashed on me.
Hi all,
Been using Dolphin for a while, spotted this build on a YouTube video, glad I got it.
Been using the latest version on a few games, namely the windwaker.
Had a few problems with vulkan with it though.
Have gone through every setting I can possibly conceive but some anomalies continue, usually missing graphics, but restarting the game will usually fix it, then after a series of reopening the game it'll come back.
In regards to performance it's a rock solid 30fps which as you all know is native, the best test for me is the opening title screens, you'll see the following which is good to benchmark settings.
Vulkan
-------------
Red Nintendo screen - solid 60
Black and white text screen - solid 60
Zelda title - solid 30
Camera panning around the island, first 10 seconds - solid 30
OpenGL on the other hand is much more stable but does not deliver anywhere near the performance that vulkan can offer.
OpenGL
-------------
Red Nintendo screen - 50-60
Black and white text screen - 55- 60
Zelda title - solid 30
Camera panning around the island, first 10 seconds - 21-25
Camera pans past the heavy graphical part of the island - solid 30
The drops you can see in the opening screens will repeat through heavy parts of the game which is what has been annoying me about open GL.
Some other games and their performance, none of these games have artifacts like he windwaker does, maybe something to do with blending, I just can't find the settings that stick continually after restarting the app.
Mario kart - 55-60 vulkan 30-60 open GL
Smash Bros - 55-60 vulkan 25-60 open GL
I've got a bunch more games but have only had this APK since yesterday so still testing.
Has anyone uploaded any configs for games for specific CPU / GPU sets? Ie SD, KIRIN, HELIO.
Personally using a p20 pro and I'm amazed at the performance boost this APK has provided, massive thank you to the OP for your work on this.
One thing which has helped me on the p20 pro (Kirin 970) is the GPU boost, I'm rooted and running AOSIP so anyone who is not running emui should install that magisk module. It'll increase speed massively, have tested this by uninstalling the module and reinstalling it, for me the effect was night and day
I'll keep going with tweaking and testing until I get it perfect.
I can upload my ini here or to mega if needs be, at the moment. I have open GL perfect in nearly all places on the WW, vulkan still shows anomalies at times.
Will the savestates of an older build works with the new version? I cant use my normal save because i get the error that my memory card are corrupted
Wow! This version is much faster and is less buggier than the dolphin version i had!
I use nvidia shield with dolphin, and this build is much better/faster that the regular one.
The regular build has finally received the long awaited fix for dolphin bar, and dolphinbar works ok, but the performance is much slower compared to the MMJ buld.
Are there any special settings to enable the Dolphin bar support in MMJ build, or it simply does not work ?
Is support for Dolphinbar planned for MMJ build ?
That popping doesn't sound like typical "slowdown" stuttering to me. I think something may be messed up with your setup, Dolphin master doesn't sound like that at all on my phone.

Audio has always been a bit of an issue for me on the official dolphin build, it has always stuttert a lot and just sounds poor, I always thought this was due to the cpu governer screwing things up so bad that even with audio latency enabled it still sounds terrible. Untill I tried Weihuoya's custom build, pretty much al the noises and stutters went away. For a comparison listen to the video below which has a small audio clip from the official build en the custom build. This example is with super mario galaxy but it's the same for every game I tested so far.

Now I'm wondering what makes the official build so poor? Is this just a hack in the custom build or is there something wrong with the official build? Both games are running at roughly the same speed between 59-60 fps. So almost stable, they both have exactly the same config yet one sounds great while the other does not. Is there a change that audio latency is currently not working correctly on the official build or does the custom build use a different kind of audio emulation? If someone could explain the difference that would be awesome
Greetings TMCThomas
(The device where it ran on is a Galaxy s9 (exynos 9810) on android 9.0)
This was from a thread that was violating forum rules simply because it wasn't posted here. Instead of locking the thread I just merged it. Here's their post and JMC's reply is in reference to this.

Odd, it doesn't matter if I reinstall dolphin or fully reset it by removing the dolphin folder. It's always like this. While the custom build does not have these issues.

What build (number) did you use before on your Shield?
And what game did you play to test?
I use 5.0-9618 on my Shield TV and want to play Zelda Twilight Princess (GC) - not satisfied with the performance at the moment.
TMCThomas - are you absolutely sure the game is full speed? Does the pointer actually work in-game in the MMJ build? When I'm not getting popping in the custom build, I can't select/fire starbits correctly. if I manually enable the correct settings to fix that, the MMJ build is just as slow (actually a tiny bit slower, but, within the margin for error when testing performance) than my modified master build.
