Hello all!
I'm brand new to Dolphin and so I have a couple (probably dumb) questions now that I'm getting started.
- So far I have nine Wii games installed. They all run, however most do not have a thumbnail in the banner. Is there any way to add one?
- Will games automatically save my progress when I exit or do I have to manually save the state every time?
- I've found that whenever I add any Gecko code to any game, said game is completely unable to start (it just perpetually shows a white screen). Is this a common issue and is it solvable?
- It always takes many minutes of repeated trial and error to successfully pair a Wiimote to Dolphin. The four blue lights on the remote just repeatedly flash and eventually time out. I've tried hitting the refresh button over and over; I've tried having "continuous scan" on and having it off. There seems to be no particular pattern which gets it to pair successfully. Any ideas?
I've looked all over and haven't been able to find an answer to any of these questions.
Thanks in advance for any help!

Well, I can't help with all of your questions, but the ones I can I'll list now.
The banner for Wii games shows up when you make in ingame save, as it is actually stored in that.
Speaking of - never, ever rely on emulator savestates for long term saving. They can break on emulator version changes, hardware version changes, or the game may just not like it. Just save within the game normally, through the games own menu. This is far more reliable.
Ok, so now that I have opened all the games and created save files for them, all the banners have now shown up, so thanks again Ivybridge11! Does anyone have any ideas about my other two questions, though?

Getting a white screen when adding any Gecko code at all doesn't sound normal. Maybe you could get it by adding faulty Gecko codes, but I don't know of any reason it would happen when adding a Gecko code that's known to work.

Is there any way to convert from Gecko to AR and see if that works?
This is a small issue, but the Mii Channel (v6) still doesn't have a banner. I've opened it multiple times and created a save file, but it still doesn't have a banner. Any way to solve this?

I don't think the Mii Channel has a save file in the conventional sense, so you won't be able to get a banner for it.
I see. And there's no manual way of adding one?

You can add a custom banner by putting a PNG file with the same name as the WAD file in the same folder as the WAD file. The resolution is recommended to be a multiple of 96x32 (such as 192x64).
