Introduction

The Animal Crossing HD texture pack project was started by TechieAndroid in 2016. It aims to redraw (not upscale) each texture by hand in order to play the game in full HD and beyond.

This game has a huge number of texture files (many thousands for all the hundreds of villagers, furniture and environment pieces), and redrawing calls for some artistic skill and flair, so the project relies on a community of texture artists, researchers, testers and other volunteers. This is a work-in-progress pack due to the amount of files, so if you’re feeling creative contributions are always welcomed!

The pack can be used with all Gamecube versions and languages of Animal Crossing on Dolphin (including + and e+) with proper setup. Primarily we use the NTSC version of Animal Crossing (sometimes called Population: Growing) for development - there are differences in some textures and filenames between versions, but we aim to provide support for these variations where possible.

Contributors across all iterations of the project:
TechieAndroid / WannabeTechNerd / Vorpal_ / kinkinkijkin / MelonSpeedruns / shrotus / John Ghostly / Brackenhawk / SoApBoX91 / Cumberlock / Interlace / PBPB / seraph / Mystic Pasta / drewby / owlmangames / Freaxzoz / koba / Nate Gullion / Popuri / dsummers / Isaac / zephyr / Soundras / DominusLex / Coveeno / BoomerDaCat / Lulu / Cebola / Dududu / Terg500 / xSorrowxLightx / Cris / Caleb / kutsu / owen.pp

Looking great! Glad to see this project is still alive and kicking. I was afraid it was gone for good when Techie seemingly deleted all his threads and disappeared for some reason. Any idea of why? I was confused because he put a lot of work into it, and we had a lot of exchanges on my CTT-PS thread about the script, BC7, virtual machines, vectoring, etc... and one day vanished.
I am glad to see this texture pack is returning, as Bighead mentioned, it was a shame the previous texture pack got removed, it always is. Even if things don't work out as planned, we can always leave our work for future volunteers. Great job picking this gem up.

Techie had some personal stuff to deal with and wasn't able to continue working on the pack in the same capacity, but he handed the project over so I could repost it and continue progress. He recently started doing some more work on this version of the project, but I don't know to what extent he is comfortable posting publicly.

I really didn't want the project to die since so much had been done already, so I spent some time giving it more structure, redrawing the environment stuff and getting help from new people. I wanted to have some new things to show off before reposting but that ended up taking months, haha. I'm glad people are still interested!

Thankfully most of the work has been left intact so things can continue on smoothly. There are some great people still on board, and a renewed interest among the AC modding community, so hopefully we can do some more great stuff!

Me too! I'm very excited to work on it Smile
Pack has been updated to include a bunch of things by awesome people, including a shiny new post office and town boards by Mystic Pasta:

I don't have permission to edit my original post to reflect the update (a thread I was active in got deleted), hopefully a mod can help me out! Sad The download link hasn't changed so the update can still be accessed, the thread info is just outdated.
I think you might need at least 50 posts to unlock more rights. Otherwise you can only edit a post within 24 hours it was made.

Dang, I wouldn't have 50 even if my post count wasn't reset. Ah well, as long as the link doesn't change it's not a huge deal.
