I have seen this before on a Mac... let me see if I can find the post and if this ever got solved.

EDIT: yup, here it is https://forums.dolphin-emu.org/Thread-so-i-created-account-just-to-ask-about-new-mario-bros-on-dolphin-on-mac?highlight=invisible seems to be a known bug? maybe some dev. can chime in? Older version should work correctly though (any version before 5.0-5968).
Thanks! I turned off Store EFB Copies to Texture Only and the blocks and coins show up now. The only problem is that the game runs at only 30 fps now and for some reason the sound and video is half speed. The game normally is around 60 fps.

That option is quite heavy on the system, and with OpenGL not being maintained and updated by Apple anymore and thus missing a very important extension to make games in Dolphin run at a decent speed you might not be able to keep full speed in games anymore, and if V-sync has been turned on, this means that it will cap FPS to the closest lower step which is 30Hz, so I'd say try turning off V-Sync in Dolphin's settings or use bootcamp to install Windows or Linux (especially the option of Bootcamp should be on your radar as it will unleash the power that is hidden away in your hardware, CPU and GPU wise)
EFB-2-RAM is somewhat demanding, depending on the game. And well, the Intel GPUs aren´t really the best performers.

EDIT: Ninja´d.
I turned off V-Sync and Store EFB Copies to Texture Only and I can see the blocks and coins now! The game feels a bit slowed down but it does run at around 45 fps and is playable. I'll think of getting Linux too (I've had way too many issues with BootCamp Assistant :/ )
You'd still need to use Bootcamp though to install Linux
Oh.

._.
Actually I may have have spoke too soon, Looks like you don't need Bootcamp, just do a quick Google for some walkthroughs

I did what you said to do to make everything appear, but know the game is super slow. I can barely do anything.
