Wow that’s a lot of catching up they did. Shame Oreo drivers were locked in just a bit earlier. We will be waiting until late in the year for those drivers to hit devices.
Well since buffer storage will appear in later drivers
That means exynos will catch up with snapdragon right?
@zxcvbad
Wow, can we get some details in the future?

@sievn
We have no proof that these drivers will be updated on existing devices. Its up to phone manufacturer. I believe (im talking about huawei) these will come with 8.1 on updated mate10/p20 or newer phones. But i wish i was wrong. Dont know what is samsung's policy.

Looking at s8 scores between exynos and snapdragon, both are comparable, but depending on tests its like sometimes one is better then another. Exynos is good performer in regular games, giving it new extensions can make better than snapdragon in emulation. But without numbers its just prophecy.

They've already told us that their hardware doesn't support dual source blending. They can fake it with software blending, but we use software blending ourself (on GL). So there is no need to pester them for this extention.
Didn't one of the new versions of android implement the ability for users to add in new GPU drivers themselves? Maybe I misunderstood but perhaps that could help?
Looking at the driver version of my S7 edge exynos I see that it is the SEPTEMBER 2016 version !!!!! How could I update that? Some dev could give me some idea because I see that the last update came out last month.

Yep, I remember their response, it was related to Midgard. We'll see if they'll implement it in vulkan driver for Bifrost, hardware should support it. A630 have it now, we'll l find out later if A540 gets it on Android P. Unfortunately there's no geometry_shader in qcomm vulkan driver and depth buffer is broken, otherwise it would be pretty much complete extensions list we needed.

Most of the credits for catching up goes to Google, except buffer_storage, 3 years after it was raised. ANDROID_extension_pack_es31a brought us geometry_shaders and OpenGL ES 3.2 came with draw_elements_base_vertex so it was mandatory for ARM to have this extensions

Here I leave the video of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. He lets himself play

there are ups and downs of frames from 45 to 12 at least

Vulkan or opengl ?

My s6 run this game very well with vulkan. Much better than in the video
in my note 8 I can not select vulkan ... I can only put it in opengl   Sad
