I am trying to play Mario Galaxy but I have a problem. Constant slowdown and constant audio crackling. I don't think it's my computer though. Please Help!

Intel Core i7 7700K
8GB RAM DDR4
AMD Radeon RX 580 Series
1. Download the latest development build

2. put an empty "portable.txt" next to dolphin.exe to use stock settings

3. Run Dolphin, change no settings except for your controller settings, and set the Graphics backend to Direct3D 11.

4. Test the game. If it runs fine, turn up Internal Resolution in Graphics > Enhancements to taste.

1. If you haven't done so already download and extract the latest development version in a NEW folder *do not overwrite an existing installation*, you can find it at the top of the download page
2. Download and install the latest AMD Driver for your GPU (found here https://www2.ati.com/drivers/beta/win10-64bit-radeon-software-adrenalin-edition-18.3.4-march23.exe)
3. Set up the Windows Power Options to "High Performance"
4. Make sure Dolphin is running at its Default settings (by renaming the Dolphin Emulator folder in "My Documents" or by creating a portable.txt in the same folder as Dolphin.exe)
5. In Dolphin set IR to 1x (Internal Resolution)
6. Set Ubershaders to Hybrid
7. Set Graphics Back-end to Vulkan
8. Set Anti-Aliasing to 1x (or off)
9. Set Sound back-end to CubeB and HLE
10. Turn off Cheats

Oh my gosh. It worked. Thanks alot
I do have a issue with the frames. They do drop to 54 for a second. Is there something I can do for that?

Probably not, SMG is one of the games that is very demanding on hardware because of extensive use of XFB/EFB, even super high end CPU's and GPU's struggle with it.
Super Mario Galaxy doesn't use XFB at all. It uses EFB Access to CPU, which is difficult to emulate quickly due to GPU and CPU RAM not being shared on our computers.

I actually fixed it. I just needed to switch to Direct3D 11. Runs at a smooth 60 FPS
