i've messed with almost all the settings on dolphin, but when i try to launch a game, i get a black screen, then the game closes. i read the faq, and it says that my device might not be supported, but i've seen other people run dolphin just fine on the 7x.

i'm using dolphin version 5.0.6489

Use OpenGL, not Vulkan. If your device installed dolphin correctly then you have no reason to assume it’s not supported.

Thanks, I tried that, and it said my device doesn't support ext_buffer_storage. I have little knowledge of openGL, but I assume this means I have to wait for a system update to hopefully update the drivers?

Yes, that's all you can do when it comes to getting ext_buffer_storage. But such a system update might never be released...

Keep in mind that lacking ext_buffer_storage won't break Dolphin, it'll just make Dolphin slow.

Ok, thanks for your help!

Edit: Based on gfxbench.com, the Galaxy S7 was shipped with driver revision r9 to r15. The Honor 7X was only seen with one driver revision, the r12. Seems like Huawei is not going to ship driver updates.

But Huawei updated the GPU driver for the Honor 6X once. So we'll see...

So for now, just use GL, but I fear the performance will be by far to bad to enjoy any games :/

i've tried 4 GC games, three of them force closed the emulator, and one of them just gets stuck at a black screen. i looked at the video i saw of the honor 7x running dolphin, and it looked like the international version, not the US one.
