Its not slow. It runs perfect from the way it was set up at default. Like I said, if I dont change anything, the only problem is I dont see blocks unless mario hits them (breaks them or takes coin out and makes solid).

Please just try what I mentioned, it will help us determine what the issue might be.
Also, 40FPS is considered slow, since the game is meant to run at 60FPS.
ok I reinstalled it and from the preview vids it seems the blocks show up now but i had no chance to try playing myself as now with this new installation i cant get any keys to work or map. it says emulation disabled or emulation key not working when i try pressing keyboard buttons in game.

Did you go to controllers and set up your controls correctly again?
When is the next mac version coming out. They have only updated the windows versions and no new mac versions..! I am starting to grow impatient. I hope they have fixed the fullscreen issue that I have been dealing with

It is coming out at the same time as the Windows and Android version, but somehow the buildbot for MAC got broken so they have to wait until the one person that can fix it gets to it. Same thing happened last month but for Windows versions.
I have set up the controller under Wiimote 1 and configure and it recognizes one of my keyboard set ups and even lets me changes it in the menu. However, in game when I open the one iso I have which is New Mario Bros, it says "Wiimote1 disconnected by emulation software."

Oh and before the iso runs I also get a Warning message that says the disc could not be read whatever that means.

That means that possibly your ISO is broken, how big is it and what is the MD5 checksum of the disk (Open Dolphin, right click the game in the game list > Properties > Info > Generate MD5.)

Best way to make sure everything works is by Re-dumping your original disk.

Maybe something is wrong with the shader cache.

1. Make 100% sure you are on the latest development version of Dolphin.
2. Try and delete or rename the whole "Dolphin" directory in /Users/"yourusername"/Library/Application Support/ (this is to return everything back to default settings and will also delete your shader cache AND savegames so be careful if you are going for the delete option)
3. Start Dolphin
4. Don't touch anything to change graphics settings (Dolphin is set up to run at the fastest speed possible without breaking the game by default) and only change the controller buttons if you need to
5. Start the game and see if the issue is solved

Still slow? Then your MacAir is really too slow to run the game, nothing we can do about it, remember: MacAirs are created to be ultra portable and last forever on a battery... not to play games on or do any other demanding tasks (even though they do work but SLOW) also OSX drivers are notoriously slow and broken in OpenGL since they don't update OpenGL anymore (and thus you are stuck on an older version of OpenGL) and instead went over to Metal, for which a back-end doesn't exist yet in Dolphin. Recently someone took it upon himself to try and create a Metal back-end (again) but it is far from ready as of now.

Still missing coins and blocks? It might be useful to create a bug report for that in the Issue tracker (all the way down on the download page, fill in EVERYTHING that is asked)

I did everything you said and yet the coins and blocks are still missing for me.
I have diagnosed which version did this problem originated from. Apparently the invisible blocks and coins bug originated from Dolphin version 5.0-5968
