Ok so, I'm running Dolphin 4593 on the following system specs; (laptop)

Asus 50VT-X1
Intel Core 2 Duo P7450 oc'd @ 2.555Ghz
Geforce 9800M GS 512MB oc'd @ 610/960/1560
320GB HD @ 7200 RPM
==========================================================

I have games stored on my internal drive, but I wanna shift them all to my external 1tb drive. It is a 1tb 7200rpm usb 2.0 drive. I'm wondering if I will suffer from any loss in performance, or if it will be the same, or better? Huh

Thanks in advance, Big Grin

Overall you will suffer a massive loss in performance due to the shit bandwidth of usb 2.0. But in terms of dolphin your framerate will stay the same. It will just take longer to read and write files that are on your external drive. So I guess it depends on whether you mean general performance or dolphin performance.
It's faster than loading from discs on a real wii, however, games like SSBB which has a 20 second loading time from a wii disc before the game begins, still has 10+ seconds of loading from a drive, while in Dolphin from your main PC drive, there's no loading at all. So loading is slower but performance shouldn't suffer.
