There is a difference between throttling and it happening to the point where you can feel it severely affecting whatever you're doing to keep temperatures in check. In my experience dolphin does not cause the latter to it.

* Project Zero 4 (Fatal Frame 4) (Wii) Works correctly with version 5.0-3617 and later but DOES NOT WORK on v5.0-62xx
* Metal Gear Solid The Twin Snakes (GCN) Works correctly in 5.0-3617 but does not work in current versions (5.0-62xx)
* Mario Kart Double Dash (GCN) Works correctly in 5.0-3617 but in current versions it has a lot of LAG
* Resident Evil 1 Remake (GCN) Works correctly in 5.0-3617 and later but DOES NOT WORK in current versions 5.0-62xx
* Star Fox Adventures (GCN) Works moderately in 5.0-3617 slow gameplay but DOES NOT BEGIN in current versions 5.0-62xx
--------- Version 5.0-3617 gives an error when entering options to change the screen resolution, stops the emulator!!!!!!!

GFX FIFO: Unknown Opcode (0xfe @ 0x15fd7fb01, preprocess=false).
This means one of the following:
* The emulated GPU got desynced, disabling dual core can help
* Command stream corrupted by some spurious memory bug
* This really is an unknown opcode (unlikely)
* Some other sort of bug
Further errors will be sent to the Video Backend log and
Dolphin will now likely crash or hang. Enjoy.Illegal command fe
