Reduced GPU performance: Dolphin will render at a lower resolution. But keep in mind that you can't select any lower than 1x IR.

Reduced CPU performance: Dolphin will run slower.
Well, based on this video, sd660 runs ptretty much most games at 60fps. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=puKny8PompE

Not sure why I cant get near that on sd821
Yeah, the price they are selling Mi Note 3 (SD 660) here we can buy the Moto Z2 Force (SD 835) for 10% more.

About SD 820/821 performance, remember it has 2 big cores and 2 little cores, the little cores will lower too much the performance when the CPU get too hot to use the big cores. The SD 660 has 8 equal, cooler and also faster cores than SD 820/821's little cores.
660's cores are not equal, it also has 4 smaller cores but yes, it runs a lot cooler so it doesn't have problems with throttling like the 820.
My mistake then, Qualcomm site only says it has 8xKryo 260 up to 2.2GHz.
Yeah, they usually put them all under one name in their custom or rebranded SOCs (820/21, 835, 845, 636, 660) but they all have 4 big and 4 small (or 2 in the 820/1) cores and they just call the big ones Kryo gold and the smaller ones Kryo silver or whatever. So instead listing them as 4x a75 @2.8Ghz and 4x a55 @1.7Ghz (or changing their name and just keeping them separate) it's 8x Kryo 385 @up to 2.8Ghz which admittedly looks better on paper if you don't check it.
Aren't Kryo 260 cores custom A73's/A53's? Cortex A75/A55 haven't ever been released yet, they'll come in Snapdragon 845. I want to buy a new phone soon and want it to run Dolphin well, the cheapest option I found is Leeco Le Pro 3 with Snapdragon 821, it costs half of a Snapdragon 835 phone here.
Yeah, the example I gave was 845 (Kryo 385 which are a75 and a55). Kryo 260 (inside Snapdragon 660 and 636) are a73 and a53. I'll also be looking for a new phone in that price range soon but I'm gravitating towards Redmi note 5 pro. It will most certainly run dolphin slower than that Leeco (which I was also considering) as the 636 is more or less a downclocked 660 and probably won't be able to upscale because of the weaker gpu but tbh I'm tired of carrying furnaces in my pocket. I mostly care about the Fire Emblem titles when it comes to GC/Wii though so it will be sufficient in that regard.
Well, my current phone doesn't even install Dolphin, so anything capable of open it wil be fine. Tongue

Hopefully the new OpenGL threading of PPSSPP gave me a huge speed boost, up to 2x performance compared to before, most heavy 30 FPS games now run 80-100% speed (like GTA VCS, GoW with 30 FPS cheat, Gran Turismo), light 60 FPS games (like RR2) run 90-100% speed at 1xResolution.
Never saw a phone that doesnt throttle. Dont think sd660 is the exception.

Also dolphin is a 2 core app. Wont support more than that afaik.
