The latest versions of Dolphin have broken many games and left them unusable, I've done recent tests thoroughly in NVIDIA SHIELD ANDROID TV 2017 and this has happened (video in progress)

* Project Zero 4 (Fatal Frame 4) (Wii) Works correctly with version 5.0-3617 and later but DOES NOT WORK on v5.0-62xx

* Metal Gear Solid The Twin Snakes (GCN) Works correctly in 5.0-3617 but does not work in current versions (5.0-62xx)

* Mario Kart Double Dash (GCN) Works correctly in 5.0-3617 but in current versions it has a lot of LAG

* Resident Evil 1 Remake (GCN) Works correctly in 5.0-3617 and later but DOES NOT WORK in current versions 5.0-62xx

* Star Fox Adventures (GCN) Works moderately in 5.0-3617 slow gameplay but DOES NOT BEGIN in current versions 5.0-62xx

--------- Version 5.0-3617 gives an error when entering options to change the screen resolution, stops the emulator!!!!!!!
Please bisect which *exact* version broke those games for you. Else such reports are useless.
All of those games are running fine for me in latest master, performance not withstanding.

Some of those games are slower due to INI support being added, which causes the games to run correctly. For Mario Kart, EFB2RAM is enabled which costs performance but allows the sunlight to work correctly. You can manually disable it if you don't want the game to run correctly.

That applies to Mario Kart Wii, not Double Dash.
I just performed a test with SUPER MARIO SUNSHINE without moving any adjustment of the amulator in any of the versions executed for the test, in 5.0-3598 the game functions 100% without any type of LAG while in 5.0-6267 the game works with extreme LAG as it happens with MARIO KART DD

Yes, this is because of the Super Mario Sunshine game INI improving accuracy, like JMC mentioned. Things like collision with goop don't work correctly in 5.0-3598 if you use the default settings.

Oh, that's why performance is worse? That's pretty cool. I thought there was some temporary bug in newer versions so I reverted, but if goop works now that's a pretty big deal since they didn't work before under any settings

There should be a way to disable it, though. Most people would rather have the extra performance on a platform like

maybe SD845 can perform like 835 except with accruate goop? That'd be cool.

You can do that by creating a custom game INI and putting it in the GameSettings folder: https://forums.dolphin-emu.org/Thread-unofficial-howto-using-gameini-settings-per-game

To disable all the performance reducing settings that are set by the default game INI for Super Mario Sunshine (GMS.ini), use:

Code:
[Video]
PerfQueriesEnable = False

[Video_Hacks]
EFBToTextureEnable = True
EFBAccessEnable = False

Just be aware that it will break things.
Do ini gets replaced when installing another dolphin build?

I went back to 3598 and didnt notice any speed improvement in mk dd, it was worse than on latest build.

Edit. Oh, I see that applies to mk wii, not gc.

Will be nice to have an option in gui to set perfomance (could break things) or accurate (could be slower)
5.0-3598 sounds very old. There has been many performance improvements in the last year.
