You guys are totally free to do anything you want, but some here are rude when someone talk about Dolphin on Android. It's simple, if someone don't care about the emulator on Android, there's no need to reply the threads here.

First of all, the PS2 and the GameCube are very different systems. The PS2 has a higher chance of liking being parallelize than the GC (which absolutely hates it). GC emulation relies on high instructions per clock and pure clock speed, which android devices do not target. There is no "preconception" here, we're telling you this from our experience working with android devices over several years!

Also, just playing a few games in a video is HARDLY evidence of proper emulation! If that was the case, Dolphin would run on Android devices perfectly! There are loooots of videos of Dolphin running a game on some random android device well. That's simply because they run less-demanding games and run it very briefly, before throttling kicks in.

And there's also the matter of broken video drivers. On everything but the Shield, devices will claim to support OpenGLES features and just... not. Or they'll decide not to include features that Dolphin needs. It's a friggin nightmare! It's not our job to fix that.

Finally... we do not owe you Dolphin on android. Most of our devs don't care much about Android, and that's alright, Dolphin is open source and that is how open source is. No one wants to spend hundreds of hours unpaid working around driver bugs that aren't our fault all for devices that aren't fast enough to run Dolphin fullspeed anyway! If you think you can do a better job than the dolphin devs have done so far, we're open source, so you can just do it yourself! But if you aren't helping, you are in no position to criticize us like you are.

I mean, nobody likes to write hacky shit to workaround mobile drivers being dumb, but it's hardly impossible to do.

Just almost nobody wants to.

Also nobody tests android when backend non-specific changes get merged.
DamonPS2 has been shown to contain some code from PCSX2: https://www.reddit.com/r/emulation/comments/7ivii4/damonps2_pro_fastest_ps2_emulator_for_mobile_scam/dr4xnbs/

So while it is a working emulator, it sure doesn't seem legal to release it without GPL-licensed source code...

The only legit PS2 emulator on Android at the moment is Play! but since it's written from scratch rather than porting an existing emulator, currently it doesn't do much...
PCSX2 team already sent DamonPS2 devs an email about this, they have enough proofs it's an uncredited PCSX2 port, and they want it open source.
