This is really strange, I hope someone knows whats happened cause it's REALLY starting to piss me off!
All my games ran sweet, i'm currently playing Kart Wii, Zelda TP and SMG. Last night when playing Mario Kart it was running smooth as normal but then every 30 secs or so it would run at a crawl for about 10secs and then go back to normal. So once or twice per lap it was running really slow.
This morning I tried to play TW and behold it is also slowing down every 20-30secs to an unplayable speed but otherwise running sweet. Now I can't remember changing any settings for the life of me! Anyone know what setting may cause these constant slowdowns?
Ps I have no background services/applications running on my computer so it's not that and I tried some other games HL2 and Dragon Age and they were running sweet so it's not faulty ram or malware or anything like that.
Cheers guys hope you can help!
Edit: and if it is because i've changed a setting without realising, it can't be in the gfx plugin because I run Mario Kart in opengl and TW in dx9
Maybe some files or plugins are corrupt with the emulator somehow, or some settings are configured oddly somehow? Maybe you can try reinstalling the emulator.
Maybe some hardware drivers are having some trouble... but I guess not if other games are working OK.
Are you playing from an external drive that is causing hiccups maybe? Slow drive?
ISOs could have been corrupted possibly I guess, but doesn't sound like it's this, I'd say this is unlikely.
Also I guess a common suggestion is restart the computer if it hasn't been done in a while
Just ideas, I'm not sure what the problem is either, sounds troublesome.
System Specs?
Current settings for dolphin?
Overclocked?
Checked Temperatures?
If running on a intel is speedstep on?
If running AMD is cool and quite on?
Try different version of dolphin?
Delete everything in dolphin folder and delete .dolphinx64wd in your
C:\Users\*your user account*\AppData\Roaming (Vista, Win7)
select the priority idle for dolphin in your task manager. i had a similar encounter like you did, but not just as extreme. hope that fixes it for you
Hmmk thanks for the good ideas guys, im at work now so cant try anything but will definately when I get home.
I'll definately check the processes priority in task manager, although I don't see how it woulsd have changed, this is a good idea.
Specs are x2 7750+ (2.71ghz) ,9600gt, 2gigs of ram.
Definately not corrupted iso's as that wouldn't just make the games slow it would break them.
Last night I played with all the settings to no avail. System was overclocked to 3.0ghz but I brought it back down to stock in an effort to fix this problem two nights ago. Temperatures are all fine (pleasantly cool infact, under 40 under load).
I'll try deleting the .dolphinx64wd file and then try different version of dolphin. And oh my god literally as I type this sentance I realise that maybe I have turned cool and quite on by accident when I reset my bios which would definately make sense if it was causing the problem.
Thanks alot guys especially Necorum I really hope I get home and find C&Q turned on in the BIOS that would be a relieving yet embarrissing moment

Cool and quiet was off, priority set to high and normal neither change anything, done a fresh install and still problem. FUUUCCKKK maybe my hardrive is fucking out plkease no lol
Dolphin runs somewhat slow when I'm playing FFIV: The After Years. My desktop is an i7 920 overclocked to 4.0GHz with all 4 cores enabled and Hyperthreading enabled as well. My video card is an EVGA GTX 275 1792MB video card. For some weird reason, I ran the game at 800 x 600, noticed some slow down in framerate, and the screen jerks around when I move.
Hi Friends,
I love Dolphin game....I Like it than other games..

Not every game runs full speed, no matter what your processor. This has nothing to do with my problem my games were working fine and now just slow down to a crawl for 5-10seconds every minute or so. Your game is just slow full stop, buy a console if you wanna play it bad enough.
