All the other emulator has to do is push sound and video. Input would have to be transferred from Dolphin.
That would be really interesting to see. I get that there is no huge demand for the GB Player since you could just as well use a GB emulator itself directly. Nevertheles it is the fact that Dolphin can emulate both the GameCube and Wii with all features intact. Even if those features are obscure, they still are part of the functionality of the system Dolphin tries to emulate.
Time will only tell us. In any case, the world isn't ending without GB Player support. Dolphin still improves better with each year. Now what I really want to see is MotionPlus support. Since Hybrid XFB and Ubershaders are implemented, you guys got to have a new aim to strife after. Don't tell me this is it? Right? There's gotta to be more around the corner? I hope...?
But I do agree Dolphin should not turn into a GBA emulator. Just the support for the GBA player and improved GBA link integration. If a GBA emulator can push the sound and video to Dolphin that would be great. The GB Player is in fact an extension device, not part of the main console itself. The whole matter of the GB Player would have been easier if the Wii just added the GB games into the Virtual Console library...
Ill give up on the fight for gameboy player, the answer i've been given is fair enough and only affects the gameboy player disc in relation to 100% compatibility. On the other hand I've still had so much trouble with VBA-M. I really want to push for an improvement on the way GBA link is handled. could it at least be set up to feed dolphin a gba bios similar to the way it takes dsp files so that it's at least all controlled by one emulator? This would make it so that as long as a user had a GBA bios there wouldn't be any issue with the version of VBA-M used and make it less of a pain for people with limited port access.
Maybe i should make a separate thread in support for my particular issues, but i really feel like this isnt something to do with me choosing settings wrong.
Side question: Is netplay currently possible with four swords adventures?

No, latency is far too high over netplay.
Honestly, you're better off contributing than begging for somebody to do something about GBA linking being awful. We know it's awful, but nobody who knows how to write code cares.
"I would but I'm not a programmer" I know. You totally would. And you made your point, it would be cool to have, but you don't really need to follow up with more responses that boil down to "please make it better". We're all very aware that it's a highly requested task
There was one developer who was working on a better solution but they got sidetracked with other stuff / lost interest.
Not much to do beyond doing it yourself.
As for your other issues, I do encourage you to make a thread. Perhaps somebody can help you figure those out.

I'll let off the gas, at least I can say I've been heard out I guess.
