I don't know how Qualcomm does drivers, but for ANOTHER_VENDOR the drivers were specific to a specific revision of an SoC (and they /love/ making small SoC revisions, even with the "same name"). Drivers pulled from other devices may work, but also might be missing hw bug workarounds that may hit you at the worst time.

But I suppose if you're already hitting a bug, it may be worth the risk - fixing a "known" issue vs. a "Possible future issue".
I found some adreno driver updates on xda. Not sure how better than the default ones they could be.
