I already recommended that & he said it the latest dev build didn't fix the issue

Tried that, didn't work.

Do you have any configured controllers that are spamming the start button? Have you verified your MD5 checksum for the game against a website like gametdb or redump?

No, I don't think anything is spamming the start button, but what's an MD5 checksum?

It's the way you verify if a game dump is good or bad. Right-click on the game in Dolphin's game list, go to Properties, go to the Info tab, press the compute button. Then compare it against the known good MD5 on one of the above websites

Okay, yeah, my MD5 isn't even close to the one on gametdb.

Did you make sure you checked the right region of the game? (NTSC-U, NTSC-J, or PAL)

If so, go and redump your game, and don't compress it. Then recompute the MD5, and see if it matches.
