Dolphin, the GameCube and Wii emulator - Forums

Greetings,

Having a strange issue here. I am using the latest version of Dolphin for PC (5.0-5733) and if I try to enable the directx11 setting I get the error
'failed to create IDX Factory object'. I have tried using google to get more info but not much is coming up. There are other error messages with a similar
wording but related to other issues.

I have had Dolphin working before (using windows 7 64bit) and had no problems, so really confused here. Oh, i'm using a GTX1080 with the latest nvidia drivers (version 388.00)

Is this a specific game, or all games?
Does this happen on Dolphin 5.0 stable?
If you Google the DirectX Web updater and run that, does it tell you you're missing anything that it wants to install?
Does OpenGL work fine in Dolphin?

I am having the same problem.

i tried using The Stable build and it doesnt display this message.

i am using Dolphin 5.0-5819. Which displays this message.

i updated all my Graphic Card Drivers, and Direct X. I am using a 1030GT.

There is nothing coming up on how to fix this via Google. Is there a way to fix this problem? Thanks.

Dolphin 5.0-5306 doesnt have the Direct X 11 bug. it seems after this Version is where the bug starts to happen.

Same problem as the OP, also on Win7 64 with Nvidia (1050 ti, latest whql drivers). Vastly different results from Darksphere92 with the bisect tool, though. 5.0-5380 works, 5.0-5382 breaks it, which makes sense, since that pull request notes altering CreateDXGIFactory.
