Dolphin, the GameCube and Wii emulator - Forums

Hi all, I'm attempting to rip my wii games and being emulating with Dolphin. I went on their website and bought a USB-SATA drive from amazon that was on the compatibility list. However when I try to read/access the disc it says it can't read. I have a feeling the region needs to be the same as I bought the disc, Region 1, so I set it to that and it still can't read the disc. Any help or thoughts?
Model I bought was this one: GDR-8082N

That's the drive I use, so I can confirm that it works and that the region of the game doesn't matter: I can rip both NTSC-U and PAL games with my drive. Which OS are you using? Have you tried Friidump? These ripping programs are extremely tempermental, and I often have to restart the PC just to get the dumper to recognise the drive and disc again if a rip fails.
