Hi guys, I was trying the new uberchader features.

Tatsunoko vs capcom uses a lot of shaders that makes the game almost unplayable during the first levels.

I d set ubershaders to hybrid and during shader moments (ie. ryu special power) fps goes to 15/20.

Then set ubershaders to full and the same, fps goes down and down.

If I set ubershaders to none, games runs a lot better and during this scenes, fps goes down and game stutter but never at that level.

Im doing something wrong to get ubershaders working a lot worse than not using them?

Another bad thing is, when not using ubershaders, fps and stutter occurs a couple of times during special power but then Works fine even on special power. On ubershaders fps goes down on special power no matter how many times was used.

Running on i7 and gtx1070 and render set to vulkan, msaa x2.
What're your full settings that you're using? It's possible you have the settings so high that your graphics card is lagging. I played Tatsunoko vs Capcom on an i5-3570K and GTX 760 and can play it without issues.
Hi. Im using i7 4790k and gtx 1070.

Vulkan, ir x 3, msaa x 2.

No game lags without ubershaders.

Not sure if msaa x 2 and ubershaders is a bad combo. Didnt try without msaa.
Try using D3D, it works best with Ubershaders due to driver issues on OpenGL/Vulkan, let's rule out the variant issue at least.
Yes, will try that.

I read some issues about nvidia, vulkan and ubershaders, but not sure.

Thanks Will report back.
We pretty much recommend D3D for Ubershaders until drivers get more mature. There are exceptions, but, you're going to get the simplest experience with the least amount of issues to watch-out for.

Question here that is totally relevant to the topic: Is it recommended at this point to use Ubershaders? Have they become stable yet? Will they affect the quality?

1. Yes. Unless you like stuttering

2. Yes?

3. Yes. The quality will be better because you're not stuttering all the time or having ridiculous pop in with async shaders without ubers.

Okay... Let me put this a different way. I was not having any of said issues before so how would I notice if it has improved?

You should know I'm not a fan of simple answers.

LOL!  *ahem*  sorry, I found that rather amusing....I guess we should all be careful in how we answer your questions...I wonder if we'll be fired if we fail to satisfy your questions in a fasion you  find acceptable  Big Grin

He answered your questions very efficiently. If you don't have any stuttering in any of the games you run, then suffice to say, you won't notice any improvement using ubershaders. Does that really need to be said?
