Im experiencing slow down on all games im playing, i have a newish i7 laptop with an nvidia geforce gpu the game im seeing slow down on is zelda the twilight princess, ive read through this

https://pastebin.com/QECE8xRq but this hasnt resolved my issue, im near the start of the game and the slowdown seems to be quite random, ive checked my system for power saving options and made sure everything is set to performance and that my nvida gpu is also set to performance and is active for dolphin emulator, is there something i'm missing, ive read there can be slow down on hyrule field but im not even there yet any help appreciated
Have you checked your temps?
That is why he mentioned temperatures. Since your using a laptop heat can be a very detrimental thing to performance. (can also happen on desktops but due to generally more space and better cooling due to extra space usually less of an issue) As the temperatures rise the CPU and GPU will dynamically down clock (lower their speed to lower heat production) to "save" themselves from damage due to heat. Add in that emulation causes high demand workloads on the CPU that can generate more heat then usual workloads (video, gaming, ect.) and you have a perfect storm that can cause temperatures to rise and performance to fall.
This is MSI afterburner which can monitor tempratures (along with tweaking GPU settings if you wish) --

Your CPU the i7-6500u has a max temp of 100c (even under heavy load the closest you should ever come is 85-90c though those tempratures would still cause performance loss and under lighter loads you should be 30-40 degrees lower)
The 940mx has a max temp around 98c and again should be 10-15c lower under load and 30-40c lower when under a light load or idle.
