I get choppy music in the title sequence and gameplay in Wind Waker.
I can hear Link's voice, and just about everything else.
Game plays at about 60-80% speed.

try this:
apply the fix item hang to windwaker, run it and start a new game, when you're ingame save the game, quit and disable the fix item hang.
Run the game again and load the previous saved game.
sound should work fine (including Links voice).

If you get a blackscreen anyways, try make a savestate instead of a savegame with enabled fix, disable fix, quit, load the savestate, save a savegame, quit, restart and load the savegame without the item fix again.

yea its pretty confusing, i hope they will fix this bug soon.

I have looked all over the configure settings and can not find "Fix Item Hang", where is the option located?

In the Windwaker game.ini..

The game ini files are located in /User/GameConfig. For the NTSC version of Windwaker, the game ini should be named GZLE01.ini.

In this file you should see a line or two of code under [OnFrame] with the description "Fix item hang", delete these lines and save the file.
Or right-click the game in the Dolphin menu and on the Patches tab unselect "Fix time hang".
I wasn't saying that the sound wasn't working...I was merely reporting that I was getting significantly more sound than I was before.

I wasn't even aware I could do that, I just deleted the code from the ini instead. :/

:Edit: With the latest revisions, in Windwaker the sound effects are barely audible now, and there is no more sound effects on the title screen. Twilight Princess (GC) and some sound effects in Mario Galaxy sound insanely loud still.

It would be nice if they figure out how to get sound working in Mario Sunshine, Luigi's Mansion, and Twilight Princess (Wii), which still lack sound despite the audio improvements. Smile

Hopefully they might be able to get the sound and music working correctly in Mario Galaxy, Twilight Princess, and Windwaker.

Yeah I know about the missing and loud sounds. The voice volume settings are extremely confusing (there's 8 of them for each channel and the values don't always make much sense) and I still haven't really figured out how they work. Zelda Four Sword Adventures sounds fantastic now though Smile

As for Luigi and Pikmin I know what the problem is, shouldn't be too hard. Mario Sunshine loses sync with the HLE DSP instantly for unknown reasons, could be really tricky or just something stupid.

This stuff ain't easy ..
I realize that, I'm just inquiring about all this stuff myself as it's interesting to know a bit about. Despite me not being able to code yet, I still am trying to learn.

I follow this emulation project like a hawk, constantly checking the repository and reading the commit logs. The work that has gone into the dsp plugin and the reverse engineering of the dsp hardware is interesting to say the least, I've been reading the commit logs related to dsp improvements and taking mental notes of the changes and progress. Smile

But it's gotta be funTongue. Hehe. Revs at this point are showing it, since audio comes and goes with every new one (for marios and zeldas specially).

Knowing how to code != knowing emulation theory etc Tongue

When I disable item hang the game gives me a black screen after clicking start the game and after the first cutscene at the beginning of game. Any ideas?
