Another question: Is it possible to trace/track the server data?
Because then we would be able to set up private servers to keep the wii version alive.

IT's possible, but everything is encrypted. We'd need someone really dedicated to it to have a shot.

I've gathered some information on the updates from Nintendo's servers. Wii Shop data gathered using Firefox disguised as the Wii Shop Channel, NUS versions gathered via CURL.
