So I got Dolphin a month ago. The stable version, 5.0, is currently fraught with issues, so the next day I got the development version that was the most recent and it worked. I got right to playing Super Paper Mario. As you might know, Super Paper Mario involves some IR control. Since I wished to not buy a bluetooth dongle so I could actually use the Wiimote, I just mapped out the up, down, left, and right controls for IR with the arrow keys. That worked.
Until now.
Waking up today to another happy day of SPM and suddenly, the IR didn't work. Controller config (Hybrid) showed that, yes, the IR was responsive, but it didn't reflect in-game. I looked it up on Google a million times and sometimes, it took me here. None of the fixes that were mentioned on this forum helped (made it worse), so I'm stuck with an unplayable game.
I've already tried clearing and resetting the default IR controls, and installing the most recent developer dolphin. None of it helped. Keep in mind it was working until today. Anybody know why this happens?
Also, this is my first post, and I am new. Notify me if I screwed up somehow.
Hybrid wiimote is buggy, is there a reason you aren't using a real wiimote or emulated one?
Because my real wiimote is fine, it's just that I don't want to buy a thing so Dolphin can read where I point my Wiimote when I can do it for free with my keyboard and mouse.
Can you not use a sensor bar? They don't cost very much and work much better or if you really want to you can use 2 candles instead.
nobody has shown interest in making hybrid wiimote mode even a little more consistent or stable.
Since I don't know how to quote:
"nobody has shown interest in making hybrid wiimote mode even a little more consistent or stable."
That's actually sad. Many games can't be played without it.

I do have a sensor bar. 2 of them. Except for the fact that, y'know, they have a special prong that only fits into the Wii outlet.
games can be played just fine.
Use emulated wiimote mode, real wiimote mode, or bluetooth passthrough.
What you meant to say was that many games can't be played in your use case because you don't want to use the other modes.

How do you figure? Any game can be played with a fully real or fully emulated Wiimote. There's no way it would ever be necessary, which is good since, again, it doesn't work at the moment.
Also, about the sensor bar, I'm not sure if your Wii just isn't in a good position to use it or you just don't want to bother, but it literally doesn't matter how the sensor bar is set up since it's literally just two infrared lights in a piece of plastic. It is for this reason that you can use two properly spaced candles as a replacement for the sensor bar if you wanted to. Or literally any other physical object that emits infrared radiation.
EDIT: Ninja'd
Since you have two, you could always rig one to use a 7-12v DC power supply (I think that's the range, it's been awhile). Any old DC adapter should work, like from an old modem, router, external hard drive, telephone, etc. A 9-10V supply is probably safer and would supply better range than something lower, although rarer to have laying around. I personally measured 12v coming off my Wii, and I've rigged the Wii sensor bar to 12V. This does work, and it does get warm. Much warmer than I've ever felt it hooked up to the Wii. I only tested for 3 hours and it didn't hurt the LEDs, but I didn't feel too safe running it like that all the time.
Just not to be rude, but I have no idea what Bighead and Kurausukun said. I'm no expert at Dolphin.
"Use emulated wiimote mode, real wiimote mode, or bluetooth passthrough."
Like I said, I need to be able to use the mouse as IR because it will be necessary at some times.

Now this sounds promising. From what I can make from this text, apparently I can use a wired sensor bar connected to a Wii with Dolphin. Now, how would one have Dolphin pick up whatever the sensor bar is picking up, seeing as teh bar is connected to teh Wii and not Dolphin?
